It’s time to try a potty!
Summertime is without doubt an excellent time to take off your child's nappy and for potty training.
The first thing you need to know is each child needs to do this in its own time: the path is slow and often includes second thoughts.
How to understand when the child is ready for sure
The first signs and clues your child is ready are generally when:
the child is uncomfortable with a dirty nappy;
the child tells you its bowel movements in advance;
the child is curious about the bathroom: it observes and imitates adult behaviour;
the child pulls its pants up and down by itself;
the child stays dry for 3-4 hours in a row.
ATTENTION
Start as gradually as possible.
Remember, trying too early could cause the child not to go to the toilet by day, but by night.
ADVICE
Start as gradually as possible.
The mother can suggest using the potty to the child from time to time.
Tell stories of other children who are going through the same experience.
Telling stories about potties, number ones and twos at this time will make the child very curious.
